Design and Build Process


This stage can be the most important to ensure the execution of the works is carried out within the program allowance. Good design would involve several meetings to discuss the full design and coordination of the works. 


Any design can look great on paper, but the most important thing is to ensure the design works in practice.  

Validations are carried out to check existing structures, layout, M&E systems to validate the current design can work. 


Preparation of the site for works includes: 

  • Health and Safety Assessment 
  • Notifying relevant authorities where applicable 
  • Fire precautions 
  • Welfare facilities 
  • Protection of the existing building or elements not being altered 


This could involve the use of mechanical equipment, dust extraction, and out-of-hours working. Waste recycling and disposal will be considered as will accessibility for waste disposal solutions, especially for inner-city locations where restrictions may apply. 

If the removal or containment of asbestos is involved, the timeline will have to allow for specialist handling. 


Once the site has been prepared for installation the first fix teams will commence on site to carry out the first fix of all the required services.


As the completion of first fix services are complete, the final installation of all accessories, lighting, doors, floors, ceilings, kitchens, toilets etc. will be completed.
